About Joanne
I'm an accredited psychotherapist with a Masters Degree in Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling and over 10 years of experience in private practice, the NHS and mental health charities. I work online, specialising in in-depth relational work — exploring how you relate to yourself and to others.
I have a multi-heritage background which allows me to connect with ease with people from a wide range of cultures and lived experiences. My approach is integrative and psychodynamic, and I work primarily with adults, older adults, and trainees. Sessions are conducted online, and the first session is always free of charge.
How I Can Help
I work with adults navigating a wide range of challenges — from anxiety and depression to relationship patterns and questions of identity. Below are some of the areas I specialise in.
Compassionate support for managing anxiety, depression and low mood, and the exhaustion that often accompanies them.
Exploring relational patterns from childhood and how they play out in your relationships today — with partners, family, colleagues and friends.
Specialist support around health-related concerns, disability, eating disorders, autism spectrum, and issues particular to women's experience.
Supporting exploration of sexuality, sexual identity, cultural identity, spirituality, and a deeper sense of who you are.
A gentle space to process bereavement, life transitions, redundancy, or any loss that has left you feeling unmoored.
Professional supervision for therapists and counsellors, supporting your development and ensuring ethical, effective practice.
"You are not broken. You are a person trying to make sense of experiences that were too much to carry alone — and that is a courageous thing to recognise."
Therapeutic philosophy
My Approach
I use an integrative and psychodynamic approach, always tailored to you. Our work begins with your relationship with yourself — identifying your strengths, the parts of yourself you hold back, and the beliefs and patterns that may be getting in the way.
Your initial session is free — around 50 minutes to explore how we might work together, with no obligation to continue.
We look at your history, background, and current situation to establish a context for the work ahead.
We examine relational patterns from childhood — the expectations formed then that continue to shape how you relate today.
Developing emotional fluency, healthier self-advocacy, and the confidence to engage openly in your relationships.
Investment in You
Sessions are conducted online. The initial consultation session is always free, with no commitment required. I work Monday to Thursday, 9am–6:30pm.
